I have lead a very colorful life and have met so many “colorful” people, wonderful people, interesting people and I have been blessed to have seen deep into their souls. For me, the thing that makes people “colorful” is their past. The challenges and struggles that many have gone through, their dark parts and their light parts. The root of all the dysfunction and disease, intimacy issues, relationship problems, is quite simply….trauma.
Trauma is so easily missed by the healing professionals, therapists, etc because when there is trauma there is a disconnection with self and in order to heal trauma, the therapist, Dr., etc must guide the client back to “self” where our own wisdom will kick in.
I have always been a big believer in our bodies ability to heal itself along with the mind, which is just as crucial in the healing process. I don’t think that our trauma every fully “goes away” but we embrace it, and learn to move with it and not allow it to stop or block our emotions, love or growth. It is crucial though to begin to work with it as soon as possible, as early as possible as it will ultimately alter the way we live, raise our children, love and allow love.
I feel the world is in crisis right now, yes, there is a pandemic, but not that crisis. I believe that people currently carry around so much trauma and we are on the brink of new trauma that will be astronomical. I think we will see new diseases coming from this trauma and a rise in crime and a big influx of relationships ending. I know this sounds so bleak, and grim, but, it is something that instead of walking blindly into it, we can begin to understand it, know it, and then begin to put the pieces together and heal.
How do we begin to heal? We have to begin to talk about and allow space to talk about it more openly without fear of persecussion or judgement. We have to allow each other to be vulnerable and we need to listen to what the needs are of the person telling us. I also believe there is a way connecting the body and the mind to work succinctly. I will be working with a group of people to bring this process out and begin to talk about truama and healing. More will come.
